On line shopping
My best tip is to shop through an on line grocery like Peapod. I make my list, go to the specials column, check them out and pick what I want. Then I either type in what I am looking for or browse all aisles. You may pay by credit card or your checking account. There is a fee but even with the fee my shopping bill has dropped from 135. a week to about 106. The reason? I am not in the stores and don't buy anything that is not on my list. Works for me. Easy and they keep a list of everything you buy so you can look at them before you begin to shop. Also, it is delivered right to your door and put on your kitchen table and the drivers have been great. No tipping necessary.

MY BEST TIP
As a mom of two toddlers PRICE MATCHING for me works better than anything. I take the ads in the sunday paper (along with all my coupons), and I get the best deals possible. I don't have to drive all over town or make multiple trips, it's great!

Re: MY BEST TIP
I do that too! As a mom of 3 (Family of 5) and one very small income - I do what I can to save money! We also have a cat, dog and fish to take care of and not easy! Since I started coupoing, we have been able to save more and we are finally able to take our children on our first Family vacation. Our oldest is almost 10! We are not going far, but it is still something! I have also decided to share with others on how to save - you can check out my blog www.mommyof3kiddos.blogspot.com

my best tip
Shop the sales and try to have a coupon for everything in your cart. Another tip, shop on double coupon days. A store in our area has $10 off a $50 purchase on most thursdays. This is before coupons.

Shop on certain days
Different stores have better sales at certain times or days. I have noticed that many grocery stores order too much meat for the weekend and by Mon and Tues it is marked down 30 or 50%.

Saving with Sales
I save by looing through the ads, buying on sale with coupons, and stocking upon things my family will need. I keep my cupboards organized so I can readly see what I'm running low on and watch for sales of those items. By shopping this way, I never have to pay full retail.

My best tip!
My
tip is that I I keep an inventory of all the items in my freezers,
fridge and cupboard. It's posted to my fridge door and really helps me
save so much becasue I no longer buy duplicates of items! Before I
started doing this I would never know...
what I had and would be buying the same things over and over or
constantly digging through everything to see if I had one particular
item! It also helps me plan my menu! I can stand there and write my
menu out right on my dry erase board :)

Re: Coupon Book
Google entertainment book or just go to the site if you want it mailed which is very convenient. If you don't mind registering with your email they will let you know about the reduced prices especially with the new year. It will get cheaper and cheaper. OR, you can buy it at alot of Kmarts and various stores. They can tell you where from 800 number also if you just want to buy.

Re: Coupon Book
Think about buying an Entertainment book when you go on vacation for the city or cities you are visiting. We haved hundreds of $$ on vacation using 2 for 1 coupons on everything from restaurants, museums, entertainment venues, shopping for souvenirs, local fast food/pizza, etc. Get it in advance, look through it and use it to plan what to do. Mid-year they are half price too. Pays for itself the first time you use it!

How I save
I buy some things in bulk from Costco. If I know I'm going to use/need a lot of something, it's cheaper in the long run (use less gas, etc.) and I hate running out of anything.

Seeing how much I save
I shop for the sales, stopping at the deli and checking the prices,if I can get ham for 2.99 a lb,I buy 2 lbs. I can also make a meal, add a baked potato and green beand, fry the ham and you have a healthy meal . I also check the day old bakery items, always a great price for muffins, bread and other goodies that are 1/3 the cost.I freeze these items in single bags, easy to use later.Coupons are a must! I try to use a coupon for every iten I buy and then looking at how much I saved

Grocery Contest Tip
My best money saving tip at the grocery store is to use cash! I read that people that use cash spend 60% less, and I've found it to be true! Plus, since you know you have a limited amount of money, you cut down on splurging on those unnecessary items. I have friends that have even lost weight doing this, because you end up buying less junk food!

Check the ads for ideas
Think of what you want to eat for the entire week and buy it all at once. Check the store's circular ad for specials to help you decide the menus.

Coupon saving
Organize your coupons. Make your grocery list. Go through coupons and match up with what is being purchased. When a coupon goes with an item on your list put a symbol ( like a C, *, $, check mark ) next to that item. When you come across that item in store you can reference your coupon. Makes shopping easier and faster.

Best Savings Tip
My best tip is to shop at off-peak hours. It's so much easier to take your time, compare prices, etc. when the store isn't so crowded. Also, the employees are more patient with accepting coupons when they aren't rushed.

Re: Best Savings Tip
That is totally true. Going on weekdays for the after-work crowd = murder. Weekend nights after 7-ish tends to clear up; during the day it's mayhem.

best grocery savings tip
Have your won price book so you know the bottom line and not to be fooled by the "sale" price everywhere. Combine manufacturer's coupon with store coupon (lots of store issue their own saving coupon, and you can use one each on the same item) so you can max the savings. Also, study the ad before shopping, have coupon matches and ready, then hit the store to save time and hassels.

My money saving tip..
Try to have a game plan when you go to the store, knowwhat you want and where in the store it is located. It also helps to not shop hungry, and to leave the husband and children at home ( always seems to cost more when you take them because of "impulse buying".
